Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Data on the acute toxicity of the target substance Nonanoic acid, esters with adipic acid and trimethylolpropane to fish are not available. The assessment was therefore based on a study conducted with the analogue substance Fatty acids, C8-10, mixed esters with adipic acid and trimethylolpropane (CAS 95912-89-3) as part of a read across approach, which is in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex XI, 1.5. Further justification is given within the overall summary chapter 6.1 and within the analogue justification in IUCLID section 13.

The acute toxicity study on Fatty acids, C8-10, mixed esters with adipic acid and trimethylolpropane (CAS No. 95912-89-3) was conducted under semi-static conditions according to OECD guideline 203 using Danio rerio as test organism. The test was set up as a limit test with a nominal loading rate of 1000 mg/L (WAF). No mortality occurred in the control and the treatment during the 96 h exposure period. The determined LL50 (96 h) was > 1000 mg/L nominal loading rate (WAF).

Based on the results of the read across substance (in accordance to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 Annex XI, 1.5) acute toxic effects of the target substance to fish are not expected.
