Description of key information

The freezing temperature of the test item has been determined to be less than -50 °C (<223.15 K), using a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A1 Melting/Freezing Temperature of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 102 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995.

Additional information

For the purposes of environmental exposure assessment, the melting point is required for solids to estimate sub-cooled liquid vapour pressure. Given that no freezing was observed for the UVCB substance to a temperature of -50°C, it is assumed that all components of the UVCB would be in a liquid form in the environment. Hence the value of -50°C has been assigned to the two assignment entities being used for environmental exposure and risk assessment.
