Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

Administrative data

Endpoint:
short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because a long-term aquatic toxicity study on invertebrates is available
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
Based on the results of a reliable Daphnia reproduction study performed with a substance analogue, it is concluded that the acute toxicity of the substance towards Daphnia magna (48h-EC50) is >100 mg/L as no parental mortality was observed at 100 mg/L during the course of the test. The analogue substance did also not affect reproduction of Daphnia magna up to and including the highest test concentration of 100 mg/L after 21 days of exposure (overall-NOEC).
