Reference
Endpoint:
solubility in organic solvents / fat solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
October 12, 2017
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with national standard methods
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: OECD Guideline 105
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The flask method approach for determining solubility in water was used, but using octanol as the solvent rather than water.
GLP compliance:
no
Medium:
n-octanol
Solubility:
23.9 g/L
Temp.:
20 °C
Test substance stable:
not determined
Details on results:
- Other: Additional test substance had to be added as the solubility from the pretest was incorrect due to the slow kinetics of dissolution of the test substance in octanol.
Conclusions:
The solubility of the test substance in octanol was 23.9 g/L at 20 °C.
Executive summary:

The solubility of the test susbtance in octanol was determined. The study was done in a similar methodology as OECD Guideline 105 for determining the solubility of substances in water, only octanol was used as the solvent. The study showed that the test substance dissolves slowly in octanol. The solubility of the test substance in octanol was 23.9 g/L at 20 °C.
