Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The toxicity of the test substance to microorganisms was investigated via an inhibition control in a ready biodegradability study (OECD 301 F). The domestic, non-adapted activated sludge used as inoculum showed no significant inhibition of its degradation potential after a test duration of 28 days at a test substance concentration of 100 mg/L. This value is therefore selected as a NOEC for chemical safety assessment.

This result is supported by the outcome of a guideline study similar to OECD 209 (ISO 8192) for which only a summary is available. In this study an EC50 (30 min) > 100 mg/L was determined . Based on these results, the inhibition of the degradation activity of activated sludge is not anticipated when introduced in appropriate low concentrations.
