Additional information

Immobilization of Daphnia magna exposed to the test item was investigated during a 48-hour static test according to OECD guideline 202. The test was performed in glass beakers of 150 mL capacity, containing 100 mL of each treatment per replicate. The following test item concentrations were used: 1.0, 0.45, 0.20, 0.091, 0.041, 0.019, 0.0086, 0.0039, 0.0018 and 0.00082 mg/L plus the control. The Daphnia magna were observed for immobilization after 24 and 48 h of exposure. The Daphnia magna were considered immobile if they showed no ability to swim within 15 seconds after gentle agitation of the test vessel. In the control and in the test item concentrations of 0.00082, 0.0018, 0.0039, 0.0086 mg/L no immobilization was observed during exposure. At exposure termination in the test item concentrations of 0.019 and 0.041 mg/L immobilization was 15 and 85%, respectively. In the test item concentrations 0.091, 0.20, 0.45 and 1.0 mg/L the immobilization was 100%. The endpoint values determined based on the nominal test item concentrations after 48 h of exposure are given below:

The EC50/48 h value is 0.028 mg/L (95% confidence interval 0.023 – 0.034).

The LOEC/48 h value is 0.041 mg/L.

The NOEC/48 h value is 0.019 mg/L.
