First-aid measures

General advice: Call a physician immediately.

If inhaled: Move to fresh air. If breathing is irregular or stopped, administer artificial respiration. Call a physician immediately.

In case of skin contact: Wash off with plenty of water. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes.

In case of eye contact: Remove contact lens and rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Call a physician immediately.

If swallowed: Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty plenty of water. Do NOT induce vomiting. Call a physician immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Carbon dioxide (CO2), Dry powder, Foam, Water spray.

Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons: Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire.

Special exposure hazards arising from the substance or preparation itself, its combustion products or released gases: In case of fire hazardous decomposition products may be produced such as: Gaseous hydrogen chloride (HCl). Carbon monoxide.

Special protective equipment for firefighting: Personal protection through wearing a tightly closed chemical protection suit and a self-contained breathing apparatus.

Additional information on firefighting: Remove all sources of ignition. Keep containers and surroundings cool with water spray. Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Keep people away from and upwind of spill/leak. Personal protection through wearing a tightly closed chemical protection suit and a selfcontained breathing apparatus. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

Environmental precautions: Prevent spreading over a wide area (e.g. by containment or oil barriers). Suppress (knock down) gases/vapours/mists with a water spray jet. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.

Methods for cleaning up: Contain spillage, and then collect with non-combustible absorbent material, (e.g. sand, earth, diatomaceous earth, vermiculite) and place in container for disposal according to local / national regulations (see section 13). Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains.

Other information: Flush away traces with water.

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling: Refill and handle product only in closed system. Handle under inert gas, protect from moisture.

Precautions: Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition. Protect from sunlight. Protect from moisture.

Storage space and container requirements: Keep in an area equipped with acid resistant flooring. Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place.

Hints on storage assembly: Protect from moisture. Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs.

VCI storage category: 8
