Additional information

Oxidising gases

The test item is a liquid at ambient conditions. This hazard class is only applicable for gases. Thus, the substance was not considered for classification as oxidising gases.

Oxidising liquids - Check the structure of the substance according to points a) and b). Delete this paragraph if a) and b) are not fulfilled. Rewrite the last sentence, if only a) is fulfilled or if fluorine or chlorine are present according to point b).

According the screening procedures as described in Appendix 6 of the Recommendations on the Transport of dangerous goods Manual of Test and Criteria sixth revised editions United Nations 2015 for organic compounds, the classification procedure for oxidising substances of Division 5.1 need not to be applied if:

(a) The compound does not contain oxygen, fluorine or chlorine; or

(b) The compound contains oxygen, fluorine or chlorine and these elements are chemically bonded only to carbon or hydrogen.

As the oxygen in the test item is solely chemically bonded only to carbon or hydrogen the classification procedure does not need to be applied.

Oxidising solids

The test item is a liquid at ambient conditions. This hazard class is only applicable for solids. Thus, the substance was not considered for classification as oxidising solid.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008

Based on the chemical structure and taking into account the provisions laid down in Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, as amendedfor the twelfth time in Regulation (EU) No 2019/521, the substance is not considered to be classified for oxidising properties.
