Additional information

One valid key study is available to assess the biodegradation potential of the registered substance. This study was performed according to OECD Guideline 301D with GLP statement. The substance was exposed to activated sewage sludge micro-organisms at a concentration of 1 mg/L with culture medium in closed bottles in the dark at 22-24 °C for 7, 14, 21, 28, 42 and 60 days. The degradation of the substance was assessed by the measurement of oxygen consumption.

The test substance was biodegraded by 50% at day 28 and by 67% at day 60 (enhanced biodegradability testing). This result demonstrates that the registered substance is not readily biodegradable but ultimately and inherently biodegradable. Moreover, biodegradation percentages of >60 within a 60-day time period allows classification of the test substance as not persistent.
