Description of key information

A study was performed to determine the effects of Santicizer 278 on the reproduction and growth of the earthworm, Eisenia fetida. The method followed in this study was that described in OECD Guideline for the Testing of Chemicals No.222 (2016), Earthworm Reproduction Test (Eisenia fetida/Eisenia andrei), adopted 29 July 2016.

There were no significant effects on the mortality or bodyweight of adult worms or the number of juveniles produced at any dose rate. The NOEC for adult mortality (28 days), adult bodyweights (28 days) and reproduction (number of juveniles at 56 days) was 1000 mg/kg dry soil, which was the highest dose tested.
