Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

According to the CLP Regulation (EC) n. 1906/2006, substances are considered rapidly degradable in the environment if in 28-day ready biodegradation studies, at least the following levels of degradation are achieved:

tests based on dissolved organic carbon: 70 %; or if, in those cases where only BOD and COD data are available, when the ratio of BOD5/COD is ≥ 0,5.

The test substabce during the screening test (BOD5) shows a BOD5/COD = 0, this value suggest a no rapid biodegradation. Subsequently the test item was tested according to internationally guideline with acceptable restriction for inherenly biodegradation and shows a rate of 7.8 % degradation in 28 days, therefore the test substance is considered as not biodegradable. In addition, simulation data based on internationally recognised QSAR sofwtare (BIOWIN v 4.1) and QSAR software specifically built for dyes, resulted in non readily biodegradation properties.
