Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

If inhaled:
Move victim immediately to fresh air, keep at rest and warm by using blanket and such. After that, get medical advice. If breathing is weak or stopped, give artificial respiration after loosening clothing and securement of respiratory airway.

In case of skin contact:
Remove the contaminated clothes and shoes immediately, wash contaminated portion with water or soap water. If inflammation appears, consult with a medical doctor.

If spilled in eye:
Wash the eye well immediately with clean running water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses and wash, as long as they are not stuck. When you wash the eye, open the eyelid well with fingers, wash the eye ball and around well. Do not neutralize with chemicals or rub the ointment or oils on eye. Get medical advice immediately.

If swallowed:
Wash mouth well with clean water. If victim feel alert, let him drink water and induce vomiting then get medical advice. If victim does not feel alert or unconscious, do not give water. Do not induce vomiting and get medical advice immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishers:
Powder extinguisher, carbon dioxide, foam extinguisher, dry sand. Extinguisher which must not be used: Not specific.

Specific hazards arising from the fire:
Carbon oxides might be generated by inflammation or decomposition in case of fire.

Specific fire fighting method:
Block fire source, fight fire with fire extinguisher. For early stage of fire, use extinguisher. (powder, carbon dioxide, dry sand and such.) For large scale of fire, foam extinguisher is effective to block the air. To prevent fire from spreading to the neighboring facilities (tank, building and others), spray water to cool down. Forbid unassociated person to enter by stretching the rope around the fireplace.

Protection for fire-fighter:
Work from the windward to prevent inhalation or exposure during the fire fighting. Wear self-contained respirator or toxic gas mask and impermeable protective wear.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, Protection equipment and emergency procedures:
Forbid people to enter by stretching the rope around the released area. During the operation, wear protective equipment to avoid exposure. Do not work on the leeward.

Environmental precautions:
Try not to allow the spillage to flow into sewerage, river, lakes and marshes or sea area.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:
If large amount: Stop releasing with soil, sand and such, collect released liquid into an empty container by appropriate method. Absorb the residue to
waste cloth, sawdust and such.

If small amount: Absorb to waste cloth, sawdust and such.

Prevention of secondary disaster:
Remove neighbouring fire sources, stop any leakage by blocking the leaking point

Handling and storage

Handling
Engineering measures:
While handling indoors, have good air ventilation. Wear oil resistant gloves and protective glasses to avoid contact with eye or skin. Wear mask for organic gas or toxic gas mask to avoid vapor or mist inhalation. Use pump and such when collecting from a container. Do not siphon off with mouth using hose and such. Do not treat harshly such as throwing down, dropping or giving impact.

Local exhaust / total ventilation:
Apply local exhaust ventilation where available.

Special instructions:
Avoid naked flames and/ or fire. Take precautionary measures against static discharge, wear electrically conductive work clothes and work shoes. Pile up used containers at fixed place.

Measures for safe handling:
Wear protective gloves, protective glasses and face protection. Keep good ventilation and do not inhale vapor. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Wash the hands well after handling.

Contact avoidance:
Avoid fire source and static electricity.

Storage
Engineering measures:
Establish sufficient storage condition of natural lighting, illumination and ventilation facility necessary for storing and handling the
dangerous material.

Incompatible materials:
Avoid easily flammable substances, easily ignitable substances, acid substances, basic substances, oxidizers, reducing substances, organic peroxide
and nitrate salts.

Storage conditions:
If the quantity is over specified amount, handle it in the manufacturing plants, storage place and handling place which meet the criteria
designated by the Fire Service Law. Electric equipment used at storage place should be explosion-proof structure and should
be grounded. Protect from direct sun light and high temperature and humidity. Store sealed. Do not store with acid substance, basic
substance, oxidizer, reducing substance, organic peroxide and nitrate salts. If stored in tank, take measure to prevent moisture absorption.

Containers and packaging materials:
This product is not corrosive to glass and metal. Due to its plasticizing character some type of plastic product or elastic material (especially
vinyl resin, neoprene and natural rubber) can be soften or altered.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Facility measures:
Install local exhaust equipment in the handling place, where feasible. Install safety shower, hand washing and eye washing equipment and point out its location
clearly.

Protection equipment:
Respiratory protection: Wear mask for organic gas or toxic gas mask.
Hand protection: Wear the oil resistant (non permeable) gloves.
Eye protection: Wear protective glasses or accident prevention mask.
Skin and body protection: Regard the exposure situation and wear appropriate protective clothes and protective shoes.
Hygiene measure: Wash the hands well after handling.

Stability and reactivity

Stability:
Stable under normal handling condition. Avoid blending with alkali metal hydroxide, strong acid, strong oxidizer and nitrate salt.

Disposal considerations

Residual waste:
Never cast away. Incinerate small amount of oil, sawdust absorbed spillage or dust cloth and such with kerosene in accordance with local regulations.
If large amount, commit waste disposer licensed by regional authority. Do not flow effluent containing this product into drain. Release after depuration by activated sludge and discharge.

Contaminated container:
When disposing an empty container, the content must be completely removed.
