Description of key information

The vapour pressure of the CHIMEXANE HB lyophilised was determined to be 8.5 x 10 -3 Pa at 20.0 °C, 1.2 x 10 -2 Pa at 25 °C , 7.0 x 10 -2 Pa at 50°C and 0.308 Pa at 75°C (the latter is an extrapolation).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
0.009 Pa
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The vapour pressure of CHIMEXANE HB lyophilised was measured using the effusion method (Vapour pressure balance) as described in OECD guideline 104 and EU method A.4. Eight pairs temperature/vapour pressure were used to calculate a regression from which vapour pressure at ambient temperature could be estimated. From the measured values, the vapour pressure of the CHIMEXANE HB lyophilised was calculated as 8.5 x 10 -3 Pa at 20.0 °C, 1.2 x 10 -2 Pa at 25 °C and 7.0 x 10 -2 Pa at 50°C, 0.17 Pa at 65°C and 0.309 Pa at 75°C (the latter is an extrapolation). The correlation coefficient r being -0.9877, the linear regression was considered good. As, no observations were made which might cause doubts concerning the validity of the study outcome, the results of the study were considered valid.
