Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

There was no evidence of bacterial toxicity of FAT 41030/A in an Activated Sludge Respiration Inhibition Test (OECD 209). The IC50 and IC20 values were greater than 1000 mg/L. It is concluded that its structural analogue FAT 41045 also is not toxic to bacteria.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
1 000 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
1 000 mg/L

Additional information

Bacteria toxicity of FAT 41030/A, a structural analogue of FAT 41045, was determined according to OECD 209 and 67/548/EEC, Part C in compliance with GLP. Both substances are very similar in their chemical structure and, as demonstrated, in a number of physicochemical properties. Therefore, the use of this study for read-across is considered to be appropriate.

At all applied test concentrations, FAT 41030/A showed no significant toxic effects (% inhibition of the respiration rate <15 %) to the activated sludge. The respiration rates were in the same range as determined in the controls. Hence, the IC50 and the IC20values for the test item were greater than 1000 mg/L. The same is concluded for FAT 41045.
