Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
toxicity to terrestrial arthropods: short-term
Data waiving:
exposure considerations
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
There is no sludge application to land from exposed STPs as the substance is manufactured and used only in industrial settings. These industrial sites utilize wastewater treatment plants, of which the sludge is incinerated. Any aerial deposition is unlikely, based on the vapour pressure of the substance. Given also the result of the ready biodegradation test (45% in 28 days), exposure of the soil compartment is concluded to be unlikely. Based on the evaluation of the current available study with the substance and the comparison of the substance with the read-across substance, it's expected that the substance will be assessed to be readily biodegradable in a new additional ready biodegradation study.
Moreover, there is sufficient toxicity data to assess the hazard to soil organisms and a reliable PNECsoil is available, which does not need to be refined. Therefore no further information on terrestrial organism toxicity is required.
