Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

No short term toxicity to fish data is available for the substance alcohols, C9 -C11 (odd numbered), branched and linear. However, data are available for C9, C11 and C9 -C11 multi-constituent substances.

A reliable 96h LC50 value of 5.7 mg/L has been determined for the effects of nonan-1-ol on mortality of the fish Pimephales promelas. Other reliable short term toxicity tests show the LC50 values for nonanol to be in the range 5.7 and 18 mg/L.

A reliable 96h LC50 value of 1 mg/L has been determined for the effects of undecan-1 -ol on mortality of the fish Pimephales promelas. Another reliable short term toxicity tests with fish shows the LC50 value to be 4.6 mg/L, while an estimated LC50 is 1.7 mg/L.

A reliable 96 h LC50 value of 6.3-10 mg/L has been determined for the toxicity of Alcohols, C9-11-linear and branched with the freshwater fish O. mykiss. The LC50 is reported as a range due to the steepness of the dose response curve.

A 96h LC50 value to 5.8 mg/L has been determined for the effects of the Alcohols, C9-11-linear and branched on mortality of the marine fish S. maximus.

The results are read-across to alcohols, C9 -C11 (odd numbered), branched and linear.
