Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Ingestion : Rinse mouth with water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Obtain medical attention.
Skin contact : Rinse immediately with plenty of water. Obtain medical attention.
Eye contact : Rinse immediately with plenty of clean water maintaining eyelids well apart (for 10-15 minutes). Contact ophthalmologist immediately.
Inhalation : Remove person to uncontaminated area. Assure fresh air breathing. Obtain medical attention if breathing difficulty persists.
Fire-fighting measures
Hazardous combustion products : Under fire conditions, hazardous fumes will be present : carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide.
Extinguishing media - Suitable : CO2 , dry chemical powder.
Protection against fire : Do not enter fire area without proper protective equipment, including respiratory protection. Do not breathe fumes from fires or vapours from decomposition.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions : Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye or face protection. Insure adequate ventilation. No naked lights. No smoking.
Environmental precautions : Prevent entry to sewers and public waters.
Methods for cleaning up : Dike for recovery or absorb with appropriate material. Clean up any spills as soon as possible, using an absorbent material to collect it. Use suitable disposal containers.
Handling and storage
This substance is handled and used under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with the REACH regulation Article 18(4) in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing. Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each Manufacturing site.
Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions has been received from every affected Distributor and Downstream Processor/User of the Registrant’s intermediate.
Handling conditions : Material should be handled with caution. Wear eye/face protection. Provide local exhaust or general room ventilation. Do not breathe gas, fumes, vapour or spray. Avoid all unnecessary exposure. Wash hands and other exposed areas with soap and water before leaving work. No smoking.
Storage conditions : Store in dry, cool, well-ventilated area. Keep away from sources of ignition. Keep in original containers. Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs. Store in tightly closed.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Respiratory protection : Provide good ventilation in process area to prevent formation of vapours. Where excessive vapour may result, wear approved mask. (type A2B2)
Hand protection : Wear suitable protective gloves resistant to chemical penetration (nitrile gloves).
Skin protection : Wear suitable protective clothing. By prolonged exposure : Fully enclosed impervious protective suit with integral or tight-fitting gloves, boots, self-contained or supplied air respirator must be worn. Emergency safety showers should be available in the immediate vicinity of any potential exposure
Eye protection : Safety glasses with side guards should be worn to prevent injury from airborne particles and/or other eye contact with this product.
Others : Emergency eye wash fountains and safety showers should be available in the immediate vicinity of any potential exposure.
