Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Adsorption Coefficient (OECD121): Log10 Koc of PSOA = Un-retained to 5.28;
Koc of PSOA = 0 to 190546

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Koc at 20 °C:
1.06

Additional information

The Adsorption Coefficient on Soil and on Sewage Sludge of PSOA was determined using High Performance Liquid Chromatography in accordance to OECD Guideline 121. Since PSOA is present as a complex reaction product of unknown and variable composition a range of adsorption coefficient values were determined. The mean adsorption coefficient range of duplicate determinations of the test item was determined as follows:

Log10 Koc of PSOA = Un-retained to 5.28 Koc of PSOA = 0 to 190546.

The weighted average (based on the % peak area of both solutions) was calculated and used in the Environmental Risk Assessment: log KOC of 0.024 (KOC of 1.06).
