Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: The study has been performed according to OECD and EC guidelines and according to the principles of GLP.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 117 (Partition Coefficient (n-octanol / water), HPLC Method)
Version / remarks:
(2004)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.8 (Partition Coefficient)
Version / remarks:
(2008)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
HPLC method
Partition coefficient type:
octanol-water
Analytical method:
high-performance liquid chromatography
Type:
log Pow
Partition coefficient:
6.1
Temp.:
25 °C
pH:
7
Remarks on result:
other: Peak 1 (area of 64 %)
Type:
log Pow
Partition coefficient:
6.8
Temp.:
25 °C
pH:
7
Remarks on result:
other: Peak 2 (area of 36 %)
Details on results:
In the HPLC chromatogram of the test solution, two test substance peaks were observed (see attached Figure). The equation of the regression line (see attached Figure) was: log k` = 0.264 x log Pow – 0.393 (r = 0.993, n = 12).

Conclusions:
The log Pow of FAT 41043/A was determined to be 6.1/6.8 (two components) by the HPLC method.

Description of key information

The log Pow of FAT 41043/A was determined to be 6.1/6.8 by the HPLC method (EC A.8 and OECD 117).

Key value for chemical safety assessment
