Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
63 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
56 mg/L

Additional information

The 17-hr EC50 for Pseudomonas exposed to the reaction product in the GLP Guideline DIN 38412 part 8 test is 63 mg/L; the corresponding NOEC is 56 mg/L.

There are two additional studies; one for a substance that comprises a portion of the reaction product and the other for a related substance in the hydrotrope category. The 3-hr EC10 for municipal treatment plant activated sludge microbes exposed to CAS No. 12068-03-0 sodium toluenesulphonate is >1000 mg/L in a 2009 GLP test following OECD Guideline 209. The same test for the related hydrotrope sodium cumene sulphonate (CAS No 28348-53-0) also had a 3-hr EC50 of >1000 mg/L.
