Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The substance is not expected to be volatile

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Henry law constant was calculated using the QSAR tool EPI Suite developed by US-EPA.

The prediction concerning transport and distribution of alkyl dimethyl betaines in the environment

is dependent on the form in which the substance exists in the environment. The substance seems to be sensitive to pH. For the neutral form Henry's Law Constant between 1.42E-009 Pa-m3/mole and 2.50E-009 Pa-m3/mole could be calculated for Betaines, C12-14 (even numbered)-alkyldimethyl. If the substance is exposed to water, it will not evaporate into the atmosphere from the water surface and volatilization is not expected.
