Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

General advice:

Call a doctor immediately.

If inhaled:

Move to fresh air. Seek medical attention if you feel unwell or if exposure prolonged.

On skin contact:

Remove contaminated clothing. Wash affected skin with soap and plenty of water.

On contact with eyes:

Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 10 minutes taking care to wash under the eyelids. Seek

medical attention.

On ingestion:

Clean mouth with water. Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:

carbon dioxide, foam, dry powder, water spray

Unsuitable extinguishing media for safety reasons:

water jet

Combustion products:

Carbon oxides., Nitrogen oxides, toxic gases/vapours

Exposure hazards:

Do not release chemically contaminated water into drains, soil or surface water. Sufficient measures must be

taken to retain the water used for extinguishing. Dispose of contaminated water and soil according to local

regulations. In case of nearby fire keep containers cool with waterspray

Special protective equipment:

Full protective clothing. Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:

Avoid inhalation and ingestion, avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Sources of ignition should be kept

well clear.

Environmental precautions:

Do not discharge into drains/surface waters/groundwater.

Methods for cleaning-up or taking-up:

Take up mechanically and collect in suitable container (adequately labelled) for disposal.

Avoid raising dust.

Do not wash indiscriminately down the drains.

Wear suitable protective equipment.

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Handling and storage

Handling

As with all industrial chemicals, use good industrial practices when handling. Avoid eye, skin, and clothing

contact. Do not inhale. Do not taste or swallow. Use only with adequate ventilation.

Take precautionary measures against electrostatic discharge.

Protection against fire and explosion:

Avoid dust formation. Dust clouds from finely particulated pigments may be hazardous (dust explosion risk).

Storage requirements:

Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well ventilated place.

Keep only in the original container.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Technical measures/precautions:

Ensure adequate ventilation to minimize the build-up of dust or vapours.

Respiratory protection:

Wear a respirator type FFP2 (EN 149:2001) or equivalent.

Hand protection:

For hygiene reasons pvc industrial gloves (or equivalent) are recommended.

Eye protection:

Wear safety glasses with side protection to protect against dust particles.

Skin and body protection:

Working clothes.

Closed footwear.

Stability and reactivity

Thermal stability / Thermal Sensitivity:

No decomposition expected under normal storage conditions.

Impact sensitivity:

Product is not explosive when subjected to mechanical impact.

Conditions to avoid:

Avoid electro-static discharge.

Materials to avoid:

No special precautions other than good housekeeping of chemicals.

Hazardous decomposition products:

Carbon oxides., nitrogen oxides, toxic gases/vapours

Disposal considerations

Waste from residue/unused products:

Residual chemical should be disposed by incineration or by other modes of disposal in compliance with local

legislation.

Contaminated packaging:

Contaminated, empty containers must be disposed of as chemical waste.

Clean packaging material should be subjected to waste management schemes (recovery recycling, reuse)

according to local legislation.
