Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Formaldehyde, polymer with benzenamine, hydrogenated thermally decomposes before reaching its boiling temperature.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
220 °C

Additional information

Copolymer of benzenamine and formaldehyde, hydrogenated was a clear, yellow viscous liquid in the capillary tube at room temperature. During the course of heating sample decomposition was observed, which became evident from a change in colour from clear yellow to brown. The boiling point determination was run from 70 to 220 °C at a rate of 2.0°C/min. The sample discoloured beginning at approximately 108 °C. No boiling occurred up to the maximum test temperature.
