Results and discussion

No endothermic or exothermic effect was recorded for the test substance sample between 19°C and the melting temperature of the test substance (i.e. 116 – 119°C).

After the experiment, the test substance sample had changed into a charred black residue and was collected in a container placed below the cube. There was no test substance left in the cube itself. From this it was concluded that most of the test substance sample had been molten during the experiment. The change of colour and consistency is an indication for decomposition or reaction.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Corsair Resin 5 is not self-ignitable between 19°C and the melting temperature (i.e 116 – 119°C).
