First-aid measures

After inhalation: fresh air. Call in physician

After skin contact: wash off with plenty of water. Remove contaminated clothing. Consult a physician

After eye contact: rinse out with plenty of wate. Call in ophtalmologist.

After swallowing: immediately make victim drink water (two glasses at the most); get medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: water, CO2, foam, powder.

Special risks:

Combustible material. Risk of dust explosions. Development  of hazardous combustion gases or vapours possible in the event of fire. Fire may cause evolution of: hydrogen fluoride, nitrogen oxides.

Special protective equipment for fire fighting: Do not stay in dangerous zone without self-contained breathing apparatus. In order to avoid contact with skin, keep a safety distance and wear suitable protective clothing.

Other information: Suppress (knock down) gases/vapours/mists wirth a water spray jet. Prevent fire extinguishing water from contaminating surface water or the ground water system.

Accidental release measures

Person-related precautionary measures: Avoid generation of dust; do not inhale dusts. Ensure supply of fresh air in enclosed rooms.

Environmental-protection measures: Do not empty into drains.

Exposure controls / personal protection

This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with the ECHA REACH Guidance on Intermediates (Feb 08) and the Cefic/CONCAWE guidance for industry on SCC (February 09).  Site documentation to confirm safe handling arrangements in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at the manufacturing/import site.

Personal protective equipment: Protective  clothing  should be selected specifically for the working place, depending on concentration and quantity of the hazardous substances handled. The resistance of the protective clothing to chemicals should be ascertained with the respective supplier.

Respiratory protection: required when dusts are generated. Recommended filter type: Filter P1 (acc to DIN 3181) for solid particles of inert substances.
