Description of key information

An experimental determination is not applicable as the test substance is surface active.

However, log Pow values were calculated for individual constituents using KOWWIN v.167, in order to determine a log Pow value usable for a conservative environmental risk assessment of the aquatic compartment:

The estimated values of the individual constituent are as follows:

log Pow of "structure A"= 1.06 to 5.97

log Pow of "structure B"= 4.6 to 14.4

log Pow of "structure C"= -1.8

log Pow of "structure D"= 1.1 to 6

log Pow of "structure E"= 8.5 to 23

Additional information

The partition coefficient n-octanol/ water (Pow) cannot be determined, because the test item consists of a mixture of compounds with different properties and because the test item is surface active.

The estimation of the Pow from the solubilities of the test item in water and in n-octanol is not possible either, because the test item is partly soluble in water and a defined water solubility cannot be determined.

For getting a reasonable value for a a conservative environmental risk assessment of the aquatic compartment an additional calculation was provided. The log Pow values of the individual constituent have been generated using KOWWIN (v1.68) module of software EPI Suite v.4.11.
