Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

General Information: Immediately remove any clothing soiled by the product. Symptoms of poisoning may even occur after several hours; therefore medical observation for at least 48 hours after the accident. Involve doctor immediately.

If inhaled: Supply fresh air and to be sure call for a doctor. In case of unconsciousness place patient stably in side position for transportation. In the case of accidental inhalation of monomers provide fresh air, rest and warmth.

In case of skin contact: Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly. Avoid contact with UV- and sunlight.

In case of eye contact: Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. Then consult a doctor.

If swallowed: Call a doctor immediately. Rinse out mouth and then drink plenty of water.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

Suitable extinguishing media:

Small fires: CO2, powder or water spray

Large fires: Fight larger fires with water spray or alcohol resistant foam. Use fire extinguishing methods suitable to surrounding conditions.

Unsuitable extinguishing media for safety reasons: Water with full jet

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

In case of fire, the following can be released: COx

Advice for firefighters

Protective equipment: Wear self-contained respiratory protective device. Wear fully protective suit.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:

Wear appropriate protective equipment. Use personal protection recommended in “Exposure Controls/personal protection”. Ensure adequate ventilation. Keep people at a distance and stay on the windward side.

Environmental precautions:

Inform respective authorities in case of seepage into water course or sewage system. Do not allow to enter sewers/ surface or ground water.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:

Absorb with liquid-binding material (sand, diatomite, acid binders, universal binders, sawdust).

Dispose contaminated material as waste according to “Disposal considerations”.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace. Open and handle receptacle with care.

Information about fire - and explosion protection:

Keep ignition sources away - Do not smoke.

Protect from heat.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Storage:

Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles: No special requirements.

Control parameters

Ingredients with limit values that require monitoring at the workplace: Not required.

Additional information: The lists valid during the making were used as basis.

Exposure controls

Personal protective equipment:

General protective and hygienic measures: The usual precautionary measures are to be adhered to when handling chemicals. Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and feed. Immediately remove all soiled and contaminated clothing. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work. Avoid contact with the eyes.

Respiratory protection: Use suitable respiratory protective device only when aerosol or mist is formed.

Protection of hands: Protective gloves

Material of gloves

Products without solvents added: wear nitrile gloves. Replace gloves immediately when torn or any

change in appearance (dimension, colour, flexibility etc) is noticed.

Penetration time of glove material

The exact break through time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and

has to be observed.

Eye protection: Tightly sealed goggles. Goggles recommended during refilling.

Body protection: Impervious protective clothing

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity

Chemical stability

Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided: No decomposition if used and stored according to specifications. Polymerisation occurs when exposed to white light, ultraviolet light or heat.

Possibility of hazardous reactions No dangerous reactions known.

Conditions to avoid No further relevant information available.

Incompatible materials: Avoid contact with radical forming initiators, peroxides, strong alkalies or reactive metals to prevent exothermic polymerisation.

Hazardous decomposition products: No dangerous decomposition products known.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods

Recommendation: Can be incinerated, when I compliance with local regulations.

Uncleaned packaging:

Recommendation: Disposal must be made according to official regulations. Packaging may be reused or recycled after cleaning.
