The estimated partition coefficient (log Kow) of NPEO was 5.39 (Bodsch J, 2010c).

The partition coefficient of NPEO was estimated using KOWWIN v 1.67a since the substance consists of ethoxylated nonylphenols with varying degrees of ethoxylation (NPE-1 to NPE-6). The log Kow was calculated for every degree of ethoxylation which served as basis for the calculation of the weighted mean log Kow. The log Kow for the different branched NPEO isomers was lower than the corresponding values for the nonylphenol ethoxylates with an assumed linear alkyl chain. The log Pow of the branched structures was therefore not considered for the calculation of the weighted mean log Kow.
