Additional information

The study identified as key was performed according to ISO 7346 -1: Static method, 1996. In addition, the procedures were designed to meet the test methods and validity criteria of the EEC Directive 92/69, Part C.1, 1992 and the OECD guideline 203 (1992) using the related substance Ebecryl 3701 (CAS 68958 -77 -0). This analogue substance has the same functional groups (diacrylate and bisphenol groups) than the target substance, except for additional groups of alkyl acetate groups, therefore a read accross is justified. The structure of Ebecryl 3701 is very similar to that of the substance, allowing for a read-across approach. Furthermore, a long-term toxicity study according to the OECD Test Guideline 210 assessing effects of the target substance is available.

Analysis of samples taken at the start of the test showed that the initial concentrations at nominal 10 mg/L and at a WAF prepared at a loading rate of 100 mg/L were well above the water solubility of Ebecryl 3701 (i.e. < 0.007 mg/L). These test concentrations did not remain stable during the 96-hour test period. No mortality or any other effects were observed at any of the test concentrations during the 96-hour exposure period. The LC50 was expected to be above the water solubility of the test substance and LR50 is greater than 100 mg/L.
