Description of key information

Boiling of FORMAMIDOPROPYLBETAINE was not observed below the temperature at which reaction and/or decomposition started.
Therefore FORMAMIDOPROPYLBETAINE has no boiling temperature.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The determination of the boiling temperature of FORMAMIDOPROPYLBETAINE was performed in accordance with the following guidelines:

European Economic Community (EEC), EEC-Directive 92/69 EEC, Part A, Methods for the determination of physico-chemical properties, A.2 "Boiling temperature", EEC Publication No. L383, December 1992.

Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), OECD guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, guideline no. 103: "Boiling point", July 27, 1995.

Evaporation of water from the test substance was observed between approximately 25 °C (298 K) and 175 °C (448 K) and reaction and/or decomposition of the test substance was observed above approximately 250 °C (523 K): boiling of FORMAMIDOPROPYLBETAINE was not observed below the temperature at which reaction and/or decomposition started. Therefore FORMAMIDOPROPYLBETAINE has no boiling temperature.
