Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The test substance ammonium 2,2,3-trifluoro-3-[1,1,2,2,3,3-hexafluoro-3-(trifluoromethoxy)-propoxy]propanoate (ADONA) had a hydrolysis half life > 1 year based on test conducted under OECD Guideline 111 (Hydrolysis as a Function of pH).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Hydrolysis of ADONA was conducted in pH 4, 7 and 9 buffers and at 50 ± 0.5 °C for up to 5 days. Concentrations of ADONA at the initial and the end of hydrolysis experiment were measured by HPLC. Hydrolysis rate were determined by % decomposition of the test material. The % decomposition of ADONA at pH 4, pH 7 and pH 9 ranged from 0 to 1.12% after 2.4 hours and 5 days at 50°C, the hydrolysis half life is reported as > 1 year. The test substance is considered hydrolytically stable.

This is a guideline study conducted under GLP. Therefore, it is considered to be reliable with acceptable restriction.
