Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: If exposed to dust, move to area of fresh air and seek

medical advice if signs of discomfort continue.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water for 15 minutes.  Consult a doctor

if signs of discomfort continue.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash area with water and seek medical attention if signs of

discomfort. Wash contaminated clothes before re-use.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Do not provoke vomiting.  Rinse mouth and drink

approximately 0.5 litre water.

Seek medical advice if signs of discomfort.  Show copy of

label or safety data sheet.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Foam, powder, water spray, carbon dioxide or other

extinguishing agents.  No unfavourable reactions with normal

extinguishing agents known.

Evaluate the nature of the incident before the use of water.

Product arising from burning: Normal combustion products.  No dangerous combustion

products expected following complete or incomplete combustio

n.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: No special equipment recommended.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Sweep up solid.  Avoid formation of dust.

Wear dust mask, coveralls, goggles and gloves.

Collect material into suitably labelled container and

dispose of as chemical waste.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance is considered to be hazardous to health and it

is recommended that personal protective clothing is worn,

including dust mask, eye protection, gloves and coveralls.

Precautions must be taken to avoid formation of dust. As

with any organic powder, equipment must be earthed and

sources of ignition removed to prevent dust explosion.

Storage: Store in the containers provided.  Containers must be

clearly labelled.

No special precautions.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Import from China in bulk sacks (big-bags). Bags of 240 kg

may be used.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Avoid contact with strong oxidising and reducing agents.

Chemical reaction with water: The substance does not react with water.

Dust explosion: MIE determined to be 10-30 mJ and there may be a moderate

risk of dust explosion.

As with other organic solids, precautions should be taken to

avoid dust.  Equipment must be earthed and sources of

ignition removed to prevent dust explosion.

Dust explosion determined by test: Y

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance is reacted to form other substances during use

and there is no option for recycling.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No method appropriate to remove potentially hazardous

properties of the substance.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Low levels could be safely discharged to waste water

treatment in view of the high level of biodegradation.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended to disposal of the substance. Incineration must

be by organisations authorised to do so under national

legislation.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Low levels will biodegrade quickly in water treatment plants

.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: No other methods recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable to the general public.
