First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove from exposure area and allow to rest in fresh air.
Keep person warm and quiet. If person is not breathing,
begin artificial respiration. Seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate eyes with plenty of clean running water for at
least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and wash promptly exposed areas
with soap and water. Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Rinse mouth with water. In case of vomiting, keep head lower
than hips to help prevent aspiration.


Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Seek
medical attention immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Dry chemical, foam or carbon dioxide.

Product arising from burning: The substance is combustible and will burn if involved in a
fire, evolving noxious fumes and hazardous decomposition
products (e.g. carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, phosphorus
oxides and phosphorus-containing products). However, there
is no experimental evidence to support the anticipated
combustion products.

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing
apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity and isolate spill
area.


Wear appropriate personal protective equipment conforming to
the relevant national or international standards as
mentioned in section 2.3.10. Avoid skin and eye contact and
breathing vapors.


Stop leak if possible without personal risk. Avoid heat,
flames, sparks and other sources of ignition.



For large spillages, dike area to prevent spill from
spreading. Vacuum or scoop up spilled material. Carefully
transfer the spillage to waste containers, or use a sealed
industrial vacuum machine.


For small amounts, sweep up substance absorbed with inert
material (eg. sand or soil) and place in a waste container
for disposal.


Containers filled with waste material must be labelled in
the same way as the original containers.


Clean the spillage area with water and detergent.


Do not allow contaminated water to enter waterways or
sewers.


Dispose of waste material by incineration in accordance with
local regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be stored, handled and used in
conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with
any local regulations in order to minimise exposure by
inhalation, contact with the skin or eyes. Avoid rough
handling or dropping.


Engineering controls are necessary to reduce exposure to the
substance. Handle the substance within a totally enclosed
system or use always with local exhaust ventilation. Avoid
breathing vapours.


When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled
appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn.
Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate
international or national standards as follows;

Chemical protective gloves to Standard EN374

Chemical resistant clothing to Standard EN368

Eye protection to Standard EN166


When necessary appropriate respiratory protection should be
used, e.g. a dust mask conforming to EN149 FFP1 or filter
respirator.


The standards mentioned above should be regarded as a
minimum.

Storage: Store in a cool, dark, dry and well-ventilated area away
from heat or sun light.



Keep containers upright and tightly closed when not in use.


Keep away from source of heat or flames.

Remarks:
Transport: The substance should be transported in conformity with any
local and national regulations.


Confirm that containers have no rent or leak before loading.
Protect containers against fall, drop and physical damage.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: The substance is incompatible with strong oxidisers, strong
acids and strong alkalis. Avoid contact.


The substance hydrolyses slowly at normal temperature in
weak acidic or alkaline aqueous solutions.


The substance is stable under normal temperature and
atmospheric pressure. It is not self-reactive and is not
sensitive to static discharge or physical impact.

Chemical reaction with water: None which is hazardous.


Under wet alkaline or acidic conditions, this material
hydrolyses slowly and non-violently.

Dust explosion: Under normal conditions of use this material does not
present a significant explosion hazard. However, like most
organic compounds it is combustible and may form a dust
explosion if widely dispersed in air.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from minor spillages or accidental discharge is not
economically or technically feasible, and such waste
material will be disposed of by incineration. In
principle, it may be possible to recover and recycle larger
spillages of uncontaminated material for subsequent use.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The notification tests have shown that the substance is not
dangerous to human health or to the environment.


The dust hazard will be minimised by storing, handling and
using the substance under conditions of good industrial
hygiene in order to avoid exposure.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance should be disposed of by incineration by
burning under controlled conditions at a licensed waste
treatment processor in accordance with local regulations.
Stack gases should be scrubbed, because noxious fumes (eg.

carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, phosphorus oxides and
phosphorus-containing products) could be formed.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not be discharged directly to the
sewage system or the aqueous environment. Large spilled
amounts of the substance must not be released to sewers,
drains or wells.
