Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove the patient to fresh air immediately. Give rest. If
breathing is difficult, consult a physician.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate immediately with copious amounts of water. Remove
contact lenses. Consult a physician if irritation persists.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash immediately with water and soap. Take off contaminated
clothing.

Consult a physician if redness or irritation of the skin
occurs.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Give the patient plenty of water to drink. Do not provoque
vomiting.

Consult a physician if large amounts have been ingested.

Never administer water to an unconscious person.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: In case of fire, all known extinguishers can be used,
including water(spray).

Product arising from burning: Based on the structural formula, incineration in a therefore
equipped installation will result in the formation of
mainly carbon oxides and nitrogen oxides.

An uncontrolled fire however, will give rise to an acrid
black smoke, which should not be inhaled.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Fire-fighting personnel should wear self contained breathing
apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: If powdered material is spilled, care should be taken not to
inhale the dust. This can be achieved by wetting the spil
with water or the use of a dust mask.

All open flames, sparks and other sources of ignition should
be removed immediately.

Handling and storage

Handling: Contact with the substance should be avoided. Inhalation of
dust/vapours and dermal contact should be prohibited.

Storage: Store the substance in the original, well closed packaging.

Avoid the formation and accumulation of dust.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance, as placed on the marked, is packed in steel
drums.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None known.

Chemical reaction with water: Will not occur.

Dust explosion: Dust explosions are very unlikely because of the appearance
of the product (sticky crystals).

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The possibilities of recovery and recycling are very
limited.

In view of the specific application, the purity is of
extreme importance. Spilled material or material once
applied is probably unfit for recovery or recycling.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: No special techniques available.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: incineration in a therefore equipped installation is the
preferred method for destruction.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The solubility is limited to 150mg/l at 20 degreed
centigrate. The relative degradation values revealed 53% and
62% degradation of Setafix XZ-1079. However at least 60%
biodegradation was not reached within a 10-day window.

Still the product biodegrades well over time.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None known.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable
