Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air.  If a cough or other respiratory

symptoms develop, consult medical personnel.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately flush with plenty of water for at least 10

minutes, holding eyelids apart. If redness, itching or

burning sensation develops, have eyes examined and treated

by medical personnel.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing.  Wash material off of the skin

with plenty of soap and water.  If redness, itching, or

burning sensation develops, get medical attention.

Contaminated clothing should be laundered before re-issue.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING.  Wash out mouth with water and give

200-300 ml (half pint) of water to drink. Seek medical

advice. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious

person.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water fog or spray, alcohol foam, carbon dioxide, dry

chemical, halogenated agents.

Product arising from burning: Oxides of nitrogen and carbon,  aldehydes and acids.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Self-contained breathing apparatus with full face piece and

protective clothing.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear appropriate protective clothing including suitable

gloves and eye protection. Contain spillage and remediate as

appropriate by liquid recovery or absorbing on suitable

absorbent material. Avoid discharge into water-courses or

drains.  Dispose of used absorbent material by placing in a

suitably labelled conatiner and sending to a licensed site

for incineration. Wash spillage area clean with water and

detergent.

Handling and storage

Handling: Precautions to be taken whilst handling:

Prevent skin and eye contact with the test material,

Avoid inhalation of this material

Do not swallow

Storage: Store dry under ambient conditions in the original

container between 50-70 Deg F. Keep upright and secure from

falling over. Keep away from sources of heat, strong

oxidising and reducing agents. Store in original

containers.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 190.51 kg or 420 lb poly (i.e HDPE) drums

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: It is not possible to recover or recycle the substance

following use

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Non-ionic materials can be rendered harmless by oxidation.

However, the nature and form of this neutralisation has not

been fully investigated.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended. Untreated discharge to water streams is not

considered to occur

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method of disposal for concentrated waste.

Dispose of at a licensed site according to local laws and

regulations (Disposal method 660).

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Discharge of 'dilute' substance waste by this route is

possible.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: It is not possible to recover or recycle the substance

following use.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: The nature and form of neutralisation has not been fully

investigated.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not anticipated.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Discharge of 'dilute' substance by this route is possible.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: None.
