Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The described tests for gene mutation in both bacterial and mammalian systems, plus tests for chromosomal damage in cultured human cells and (in vivo) in mice, all gave clearly negative results.

Short description of key information:
Reliable in vitro studies of gene (bacterial) and chromosomal (mammalian) mutation are available: both found no detectable mutagenic activity. In addition, a close chemical analogue produced no evidence of induced gene mutation in cultured mammalian cells and another close analogue did not induce micronuclei in bone marrow cells of mice dosed orally at up to 2 x 450 mg/kg.

Endpoint Conclusion: No adverse effect observed (negative)

Justification for classification or non-classification

Studies of both the test substance and close chemical analogues found no evidence of mutagenic activity: hence no classification for this endpoint is appropriate.
