Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Not considered to be a direct inhalation hazard. In the
event of symptoms, remove affected individual from source of
exposure and obtain medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse eyes with eye-wash solution or large volumes of clean
water. Obtain medical attention if symptoms persist. Show
copy of safety data sheet or label to medical personnel.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected area with water. Obtain medical attention if
symptoms persist. Remove contaminated clothing and wash
throughly before re-use.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Dry foam, powder, water spray, carbon dioxide and other
extinguishing agents. No adverse reaction with normal
extinguishing agents are know.

Product arising from burning: Complete combustion will lead to the formation of oxides of
nitrogen and carbon. Reduced forms of these oxides may
result from incomplete oxidation together with aldehydes and
acids.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Breathing apparatus, suitable gloves, goggles and face
protection must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear appropriate protective clothing including suitable
gloves and eye protection. Contain spillage and remediate as
appropriate by liquid recovery or absorbing on suitable
absorbent material. Avoid discharge into water-courses or
drains. Dispose of used absorbent material by placing in a
suitably labelled container and sending to a licensed site
for incineration.

Handling and storage

Handling: Workers should wear personal protective equipment which
should include suitable gloves, eye and face protection, and
eye-washes should be available.

Storage: Store dry under ambient conditions in the original
container. Keep upright and away from sources of heat,
strong oxidising and reducing agents.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Intended for import in 190 kg HDPE drums.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Avoid strong oxidising agents and reducing agents.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Dust explosion: Not applicable as the substance is a liquid.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: It is not possible to recover or recycle the substance
following use.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Non-ionic materials can be rendered harmless by oxidation.
However, the nature and form of this neutralisation has not
been fully investigated.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended. Untreated discharge to water streams is not
considered to occur.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: This is the recommended method of disposal for concentrated
waste. Dispose of at a licensed site according to local laws
and regulations (Disposal method 660).

Stack gases should be scrubbed because noxious fumes eg
carbon and nitrogen compounds could be formed.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will enter the public domain in the form of
cosmetics which may be disposed of as dometsic waste.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not anticipated.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: None.
