First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. Consult a physician.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate with flowing water immediately and continuously for
15 minutes. Consult medical personnel.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash exposed areas with plenty of soap and water. Remove
contaminated clothing and launder before re-use. Call a
physician and/or transport to emergency facility
immediately.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: CO2 and dry chemical are suitable extinguishing materials.

Product arising from burning: Material is considered not inflammable. However, since it is
an organic material, under fire conditions, combustion
products may be expected to include toxic and irritant gases
including chlorinated compounds.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Protective clothing and positive pressure, self-contained
breathing apparatus should be worn during during fire
control operations.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Small spills should be swept up for disposal by
incineration. Large spills should be retained by
barricade/bunding to prevent material from entering sewers,
ditches and waterbodies. Contaminated material e.g. soil
etc. should be removed for incineration, as appropriate.
Self-contained breathing apparatus may be required if
atmospheric dust is present. Wear protective equipment.

Handling and storage

Handling: If the substance is to be handled by any means other than
the automated machinery and there is a risk of
exposure,then:

wear clean, long-sleeved, body covering clothing (i.e.
coveralls), suitable protective gloves, face protection
(goggles) and if atmospheric dust is present, an approved
dust respirator.

Storage: Store in compliance with local regulations in a fresh, dry,
ventilated place in original packaging.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 45 kg keg (fiber keg with internel polyethylene liner).

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Substance may be recovered by collection, containement in
appropriate drums and returned to the notifier.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The substance does not require specific neutralization. Any
split material should be swept up for disposal.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: 1200°C, 2 seconds residence time. Waste gas scrubbing to
remove oxides of nitrogen should be used.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not biodegradable, not toxic for sludge bacteria.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable, the substance will not enter the public
domain.
