Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. Obtain medical attention if symptoms

develop.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately flush eyes with water and continue for several

minutes. Obtain medical attention if discomfort persists.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin with soap and water.

If irritation persists or contact has been prolonged obtain

medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Obtain immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Alcohol-type or all-purpose-type foams for large fires.

Water spray, carbon dioxide or dry chemical for small fires.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may include oxides of carbon.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing

apparatus must be worn.

Fight the fire from a safe distance or protected location.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment conforming to

the relevant national or international standards, as

mentioned in section 2.3.10. Caution, floor may be slippery.

Absorb and contain spillages with a suitable inert material

(eg. sand or soil). Carefully transfer the spillage to waste

containers, or use a sealed industrial vacuum machine.

Containers filled with waste material must be labelled in

the same way as the original substance containers.  Avoid

discharge to drain.

Dispose of waste material in accordance with local

regulations by incineration.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling organic

chemicals.

Engineering controls are necessary to reduce exposure to the

substance.  General mechanical ventilation is adequate when

stored or handled in closed equipment, but use local exhaust

ventilation when vapour can escape.

When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled

appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn.

Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate

international or national standards:

Respiratory protection:

For low vapour concentrations use an EN 136 category

respirator.

For high vapour concentrations, self-contained breathing

apparatus should be used.

Protective gloves to Standard prEN 374.

Chemical protective clothing to Standard EN368

Eye protection to Standard prEN166.

Eye baths and safety showers should be available.

These measures should be regarded as a minimum.

Storage: Store in a cool room away from direct sunlight.

Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Polyethylene drums.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of solutions mixed with

inert material (eg. sand or soil) may be disposed of by

landfill at an authorised tip in accordance with local

regulations.  Neat substance should not be disposed of by

landfill.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration by burning

under controlled conditions at a licensed waste treatment

processor in accordance with local regulations. Stack gases

should be scrubbed, because noxious fumes (eg. carbon

oxides) could be formed.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
