Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eyes with water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation

occurs seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash affected area with plenty

of soap and water. If irritation occurs seek medical

attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon dioxide, dry chemical and foam .

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may include oxides of carbon.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing

apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Safety precautions as recommended in section 2.3.10 should

be followed.

Absorb spillages with a suitable inert material (eg sand or

soil). Carefully transfer the spillage to waste containers,

or use a sealed industrial vacuum machine. Containers filled

with waste material must be labelled in the same way as the

original container. Dispose of waste material by

incineration in accordance with local regulations.

Clean the spillage area with water and detergent. Do not

allow waste to be washed to the drains.

Handling and storage

Handling: Engineering controls are necessary to reduce exposure to the

substance.

When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled

appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn.

Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate

international or national standards as follows;

Chemical protective gloves to Standard prEN374

Chemical resistant clothing to Standard EN368

Eye protection to Standard prEN166

When necessary appropriate respiratory protection should be

used. e.g. a dust mask conforming to EN149 FFP1.

Storage: Store in a dry well-ventilated area away form sources of

ignition.

Keep containers tightly closed when not in use to avoid

prolonged exposure of the material to air.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 200 kg steel-lined drums and 15.9 kg pails.
