Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water; if irritation develops seek

medical advice.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water fog, carbon dioxide, foam or dry powder are suitable

extinguishing agents.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Absorb spill using a suitable inert material (eg fire

retardant-treated sawdust, diatomaceous earth etc). Dispose

of by incineration in accordance with local regulations. Do

not allow spill to enter drains or water systems.

Handling and storage

Handling: Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid contact with skin and

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method at a suitable facility in accordance with

local regulations.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Avoid discharge to water systems. However if contamination

occurs recover in oil phase from oil/water separator prior

to water phase secondary treatment or discharge. Treatment

of the aqueous phase with activated sludge requires a

prolonged contact time to achieve biodegradation. Activated

carbon should be used to reduce contamination to lowest

levels possible in the remaining water phase.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance itself will not enter the public domain.
