Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air and seek medical advice.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water for at least 15 minutes.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and wash with plenty of soap

and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Recommended extinguishing agents: Carbon dioxide or dry

powder may be used for small fires. Foam may be used for

large fires.

Product arising from burning: Products arising from pyrolysis: Combustion is not complete

at temperatures below 1200 deg C. Thermal decomposition

products such as mono and dichlorobenzene, chlorobromo-

benzene, benzonitriles, dichlorobenzo-furans were found

during a pyrolysis test at 800 deg C.

Protective equipment: Protective equipment: Protective clothing and a

self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Sweep up spill and place into suitable labelled containers

and dispose of by incineration or at a suitable landfill

facility. Avoid contamination of waterways and reservoirs.

Handling and storage

Handling: Ensure adequate ventilation, extract dusts from emission

source. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

Storage: Store in a cool place away from sources of ignition, in

polyethylene- lined plastic drums.

Chemical reaction with water: Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: The substance can be disposed of at a suitable landfill

site. Avoid discharge into drains.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method. The substance can be disposed of by

incineration at a suitable facility at a minimum of 1200

deg C. Waste gas treatment to remove hydrogen halides and

nitrogen oxides should be fitted.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance may be removed from water purification

systems by physicochemical treatment (floculation,

filtration, absorption on carbon). Waste solids should be

disposed of by incineration. If treatment of water is not

possible incineration of contaminated water may be used.

Contaminated water should be prevented from entering the

wider aquatic environment.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance itself and preparations containing it will

not enter the public domain.
