Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove person from area of contamination and seek medical

attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with water and seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: All regular means of extinguishing agent may be used

(eg water, foam, dry chemical, carbon dioxide).

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

nitrogen.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear standard protective equipment.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: The substance should be collected mechanically for disposal

by incineration. Small residues can be washed away with

water. Wear suitable protective clothing.

Handling and storage

Handling: Apply standard handling measures for surfactants.

Wear eye protection (goggles) and rubber gloves.

Storage: Store in closed containers in a cool, dry and

well-ventilated area.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery of the substance from preparations or solutions is

difficult. However, in specific cases, evaporation of

solvent may be applied as a means of recovery. (A616)

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: The substance is water soluble and readily biodegradable.

Therefore some degradation will occur if discharged into

waste waters. Direct discharge to surface waters should be

avoided however, as should the discharge of concentrated

solutions, or large volumes to waste water treatment plants.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Disposal at a suitable facility equipped with waste gas

treatment to remove nitrogen oxides is recommended for large

volumes. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: When sufficiently diluted (to below acutely toxic

concentrations) the substance is not expected to affect the

performance of a water purification system, therefore, some

degradation can be expected following sewage treatment.

(A641)

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will only enter the public domain in the form

of preparations which may be disposed of with normal

household waste.
