Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Aid breathing if necessary and

get prompt medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water for at least 15 minutes, get prompt

medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Get prompt medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Combustion products may contain carbon, nitrogen and

sulphur oxides together with some soot. Suitable

extinguishing agents are water, dry chemical, carbon

dioxide and foam. Dry powder will support combustion. Fire

fighters should wear a self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear protective clothing (see 2.3.1), avoid contact.

Collect spilt material, if necessary use a suitable

absorbent, and place in suitable labelled waste containers.

Wash spill area with water and detergent (collect waste

water for disposal). Dispose of waste by disposal at a

landfill site or incinerator. Uncontaminated material may

be returned to the original container.

Handling and storage

Handling: Maintain good housekeeping procedures, handle in a dust and

splash-fre system. Avoid skin and eye contact and do not

breathe dust. No smoking or food in the area. Use rubber or

plastic gloves, and safety goggles with side-shields and an

apron. If dust formation is possible wear a respirator.

Emergency deluge showers and eye-wash stations should be

readily available.

Storage: Store in a cool dry place away from excessive heat. Use the

original or similar waterproof containers, reseal

containers immediately after use. Avoid unnecessary

contact.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable (FRG c.a. summary)

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: The substance may be disposed of at a controlled landfill

site. Discharge to surface water is not recommended.

However, if the concentration is maintained below 100

mg/litre no unfavourable effects, apart from coloration,

are envisaged.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method, use an approved facility. Waste gas

treatment to remove nitrogen and sulphur oxides should be

used. The minimum temperature for incineration recommended

is 950 deg C.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from preparations is not economically feasible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable for the preparations envisaged.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Preparations containing the substance may be disposed of as

office waste.
