First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Symptomatic treatment

Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate immediately with water.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash thoroughly with soap and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Use the usual fire extinguishing media.

Product arising from burning: Above 130 deg C decomposition occurs and toxic fumes

(including sulfur oxides) are emitted.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Firefighters should wear a self-contained breathing

apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Collect into containers and bury in an approved landfill

away from water sources.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid contact with skin (the powder as supplied contains a

dust suppressant which should minimise dust formation).

Workers should wear protective gloves and clothing. Local

exhaust ventilation should be used where possible.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Sweep into containers for disposal. Flush area with water.

(A611)

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None given.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Possible for small quantities if well diluted. Disposal at

an approved chemical waste disposal facility away from water

sources is possible. (A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Small quantities may be burned in an approved incinerator if

charged with care: sulfur oxides will be emitted. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Possible for relatively small quantities.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable, as the material is not or will not be

available to the public at large.
