First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Symptomatic treatment.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Symptomatic treatment.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: In case of fire normal extinguishing media may be used e.g.
water, carbon dioxide, foam, dry powder. Carbon monoxide,
sulphur dioxide and relatively large quantities of nitrogen
oxides may be evolved.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: If dry, collect up and dump in accordance with local
regulations. For liquors, wash with much water and
discharqe in accordance with local/national requlations.

Handling and storage

Handling: Minimise exposure by use of standard occupational hygiene
procedures and good housekeeping.

Storage: All containers should be in good condition in a well

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance is a solid which if spilt could be collected
and possibly used depending on the extent of contamination.
It is used in open systems with dust extraction and may
again be recoverable in small amounts at this stage.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: dilute well with water and discharge in accordance with
local/national requlations.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: possible; substance decomposes above 230 deg C and is
likely to evolve much acid fume on burning (SO2, nitrogen
oxides : see item 2.3.4)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: should be acceptable providing the substance is well
diluted but it should be noted that it is not biodegradable
in the ready biodegradability test (5.2.1.1): however it is
likely to be adsorbed on the sludge; see also comments on
p.iii.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from articles or preparations is not possible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Articles and preparations containing the substance may be
disposed of as domestic waste.
