Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Use water mist, foam, carbon dioxide or dry powder
extinguishers. Products of combustion will include oxides
of nitrogen together with some soot and possibly hydrogen
cyanide gas.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Gather up powder for disposal by controlled discharge or
incineration. If in aqueous form, soak up with an absorbent
material and dispose of in a controlled site or
incinerator.

Handling and storage

Handling: Minimise exposure by use of standard occupational hygiene

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The concentration of dyestuff in effluent is very weak,
recovery from industrial waste is not envisaged.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: For accidental spills of the substance

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: without inconvenience

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance is only slightly biodegraded. However the
substance will be eliminated by absorption on sludge; also
the substance is insoluble.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from dyed articles or prepartions is not feasible

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, no known hazardous effects

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Dyed articles may be disposed of with normal domestic waste
