Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The surface tension of the test material was determined using the OECD 115 method. The ring method was implemented on an aqueous solution of 1 g/L (viscosity<200 mPa.s). Three determinations were carried out at 20°C.
The surface tension was calculated to be 61.30 ± 0.40 mN/m. Considering that distilled water has a surface tension of 72.75mN/m at 20°C, substances showing a surface tension lower than 60mN/m under conditions of this method should be regarded as being surface-active materials. With a value just above 60 mN/m, the test item is not considered to have surface active properties.
