Additional information

No experimental data evaluating the adsorption potential of isooctadecanoic acid, mono- and diester with glycerol (CAS No. 97358-80-0) are available. Since the substance is an UVCB substance, QSAR estimations using the KOCWIN v2.00 program have been calculated for representative fatty acid components (C18 iso mono- and diester), resulting in log Koc values of 3.6-8.6 (log Kow method) and 2.9-7.8 (MCI method)(López Parrón, 2011). The estimated log Kow value of the C18 iso diester (14.9) is outside the Kow range of the training set of both log Kow and MCI method (0.31-8.70 and -2.11-9.10 respectively). Therefore the obtained values should be taken with caution. The definite values may not be fully reliable but indicate a high adsorption potential. The values obtained for the C18 iso component with both MCI and log Kow method are reliable and within the applicability domain of the calculation method (log Koc 2.9 and 3.6 respectively).Generally, longer fatty acid C-chain lengths and higher degrees of esterification (diester) are expected to show higher adsorption potential than shorter and monoester fatty acids, for which reliable values are available. Considering the estimated log Koc range for this substance, 2.9-8.6, high adsorption potential to solid organic particles cannot be excluded.
