Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The substance is not considered to have any oxidising potential.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
no

Additional information

The oxidising potential of the registered substance was estimated via an assessment based on an examination of the molecular structure and composition of the substance. An analysis of the substance was performed to identify the presence of any structural features commonly associated with oxidising behaviour, i.e. groups that are capable of contributing to the combustion of other materials, generally by yielding oxygen. Typical oxidising agents contain functional groups such as halide-oxygen groups, nitrogen-oxygen groups and some metal-oxygen complexes. The substance does not contain chlorine or fluorine and all the oxygen atoms present are bound to carbon, hydrogen or sulphur. It is concluded that the substance does not have any oxidising potential and does not require classification as an oxidising agent.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance is considered to be not classified as oxidising as there are no structural features of the substance associated with explosiveness.
